ABOUT US

Matthew 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone,

but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

It is our firm conviction that God's word, as expressed in the Bible, is to serve as the foundation of the faith of His people and as a bulwark against error and deception. Plainly stated, it is to be as the North star in our Christian journey and will prepare us, if correctly understood, to live for eternity with the God who loves and created us. "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." John 17:17

We believe that when God's word is studied in the very manner which it specifies-- when it is received just as it reads, free of "the teachings of men" (Matthew 15:9), then it will illumine our minds as our Father and Creator intended. And just as importantly, this illumination will then begin to dispel every erroneous teaching that has found it's way into our understanding; just as light dispels all darkness. The warning of Christ: "...Take heed that no man deceive you" in Matthew 24:4 is one of the most significant warnings ever given to the people of God. Why? Because Satan walks about as a roaring lion to "devour" or "deceive" even the elect if it were possible.

If we are deceived by the enemy concerning the Word of God, we shall lose eternal life. Why? Because deception leads us into a wrong understanding of God and we therefore do not know Him. This is crucial when you consider that Jesus has told us that eternal life comes only to those who "know" him and the Father! "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." John 17:3 Realize that Jesus, His Son, IS the Word! We are therefore obligated to read and study the word for ourselves... In order that we may come to "know" Him!

But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 1 Thessalonians 5:1-8

"Children of Light" was established for the purpose of aiding Christ in His mission to prepare man for his soon return. By His grace and providential leading we intend to aid in this mission by pointing man to the already established methods of correct bible study set forth in the plain statements of God's word. No methodology or teachings of men can be employed.

In the days that Christ walked this earth, the church was greatly hindered by "the teachings of men". Christ was ever laboring to draw their attention back to the plain statements found in the scriptures in order that they might have a pure conception of God and thus better understand His expectations of them. We see this in Matthew 5 in His sermon on the mount: "Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time.... But I say unto you"! Matthew 5:21-22

In spite of the growing belief that truth is "relative", the bible will  emphatically defend against this claim. In fact, it will teach us that:  "There is ONE body, and ONE Spirit, even as ye are called in ONE hope of your calling; ONE Lord, ONE faith, ONE baptism, ONE God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all." Ephesians 4:4-6

And as we believe that there is only one truth just as there is only one Christ Jesus the Word, we are also caused to believe that our Father has provided within his bible an established method for arriving at truth. That we can plainly show. It is so simple that a child may understand it.

So truth is NOT relevant... TRUTH is Christ, our Lord who NEVER changes: "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." Hebrews 13:8. And He has revealed so thoroughly the will of the Father that "If any man will do His will, he shall know of the DOCTRINE". John 7:17  ANY doctrine!

OUR VISION

We desire to see an army of souls who, as a result of rightly dividing the word of Truth and finding the Pearl of great price, are able to stand firmly and faithfully through the final assaults of Satan on this earth—opposing darkness and defending the faith once delivered to the saints! And they will accomplish this using a "plain thus saith the Lord"!

WHAT WE DO

We point the student of the bible to the biblical principles found naturally occurring within the Word of God. These rules all find their origin within the plain text of the bible and are confirmed by bringing "line upon line" and "precept upon precept". (Isaiah 28) The bible is it's own expositor!
